GPS & Navigation

There is nothing more serious or frightening than finding yourself in unfamiliar territory without a clue as to how to get back. Having a GPS or compass on hand is an outdoor necessity.

According to the National Park Service, from 1992 to 2007 there were 78,488 individuals involved in 65,439 search and rescue incidents. These incidents ended with 2659 fatalities, 24,288 ill or injured individuals, and 13,212 saves. Don’t be a statistic! Seriously! Be prepared BEFORE you hike, backpack or even camp in wilderness areas, and bring along your best buddy: navigation tools. And, most importantly, learn how to use them!

We carry a variety of GPS, compasses and other navigation tools for the day hiker, or the seasoned adventurer, including Bushnell backtrackers, the Magellan Explorist, military compasses and a few Humminbird Fishfinders because fish get lost too! :P
